Platform Deck Space Solutions

Platform deck space is highly utilised and is especially constrained during the decommissioning phase of a platform’s life. This can in turn become a constraint to efficiently carrying out operations. The opportunity for the supply chain was therefore to provide flexible multi-functioning solutions with low deck space requirements to improve platform running costs during decommissioning. In parallel there was also a requirement to minimise marine logistics and the reliance on higher cost alternatives. Two specific challenges were presented: namely the requirement for modular deck space solutions, and the requirement for modularised equipment solutions.
